9th Days of Antiquity - Pula Superiorvm

For the ninth year in a row, Pula once again organizes the Days of Antiquity for all its visitors and citizens. This attractive event will be held from June 24 - 26, 2010 in the old city center and Amphitheater. The opening ceremony of the festival is planned on June 24 in the Forum with multimedia programs and the sounds of ancient music. The following two days will also reflect the atmosphere of classical times, filled with scenes of everyday life of ancient Romans. Ancient dishes and ancient crafts such as making jewelry, stonemasonry and mosaics will be presented by authentic Sepomaia Viva in the Forum.  The festival of products, that link us with ancient times, offers tasting of fine wines and olive oil.

 

The programs at Portarata and Giardini will also take us back to the Roman times, whereas the venue for ancient sports and gladiator fights will be the magnificent Arena. In addition to the excellent fashion show and presentation of gorgeous classical hairstyles, the festival also presents Roman togas. An interesting Roman breakfast ientaculum will also be prepared at Giardini, whereas educative workshops for children will be organized at Portarata. At the Cvajner Gallery you can see contemporary art as an interpretation of antiquity, and MMC Luka arranges the exhibition of dr. Alka Starac "From Fragment to Reconstruction", 3D visualization of ancient Istrian structures presented by the Archaeological Museum of Istria.

 

We invite you to taste and enjoy the ancient drink mulsum, costumed entertainment programs and relaxed atmosphere, because during the Days of Antiquity Pula will turn into a true ancient stage!
