Conservation and restoration works on the north-west tower or Pula's Arena that were begun in 2007 have now been completed, adding new splendor to the most significant cultural and historic monument in our city. The restoration work worth over five million kunas was executed by the Croatian Conservation Institute, and paid by the Archaeological Museum of Istria. The restoration of the Arena will be continued over the following years, and will include either the restoration of the south-west tower by the entrance to the Arena or the mantle of the amphitheater continuing from the already restored tower.
It should be mentioned that Pula's Arena is the sixth largest amphitheater in the world, which had 300 thousand visitors last year.
