Aquarium Pula

Aquarium Pula is located in the Austro-Hungarian fortress "Verudela" on the peninsula Verudela, 3km away from the city Pula. Meet  the Adriatic, Mediterranean, tropical marine and freshwater species as well as freshwater fish of European rivers and lakes in 60 pools with at approximately 2000 m2 of space on groundfloor, first floor and in moat of the fortress. Temporary residents of the Aquarium are marine turtles which are recovering in the „Marine Turtle Rescue Center". Recently arrived inhabitants of the aquarium are presented in the exhibition "Evolution" (NEW!). In the moat of the fortress you'll find a summer terrace with a café, bar and grill. You can enjoy a spectacular  view of the city and the whole of Istria on the roof of the fortress (NEW!).

For those who want to learn more, we offer a boat trip as part of our oceanology program "Blue School" (4h, additional charges apply) and demonstrations of chemistry or marine biology (included in the ticket price of the Aquarium).

Construction work on the sewage collector along Pula's seafront Riva is planned to begin in February and at a present estimate will continue until July 2013
