"December in the City" is the name of the traditional event consisting of numerous attractive programs, marking the end of 2011 and the beginning of the New Year.

During the gastronomy event "December in the "Padella" (pan) the sweet smell of homemade food fills the very center of the city, attracting a large number of visitors every day. On Monday, December 19th at 10 am, you can enjoy Christmas "Fritaja" (scrambled eggs) accompanied with music, and on Christmas Eve there will be Fish Grill.

The New Year's Eve program in the Forum also attracts a great number of people. Those who decide to celebrate the beginning of the new 2012 outdoors will be entertained by popular local singers, whereas a program for the younger generation is organized in Dante's Square. From December 28th in the evening hours the Square will be the venue for concerts of well known rock, hip hop and electronic music performers.
The concert of the world famous cellist Stjepan Hauser and Oliver Dragojević will be held on December 19th when they will promote their joint album "Noć nek tiho svira". The following day, December 20th, there is yet another musical treat with the concert of the German group Gregorian that will be held in the Istrian National Theater.
