The opening ceremony of this year's 15th Pula Book Fair will take place at the House of Croatian Defenders on December 4 at noon. The Dreamlike Book Fair, a traditional event dedicated to books and their authors includes altogether 66 programs with some 200 participating guests and authors. The Argentinean writer Albert Manguel, author of the famous book "A History of Reading" will be in Pula from December 4-13, as well as one of the greatest contemporary American philosophers Daniel Dennett who will present the Croatian version of his book "Breaking the Spell: Religion as a Natural Phenomenon" as part of the program "Talks behind the curtain".
This year the Fair has two major events - Weekend of Librarians and the 80th anniversary of publishing the book "The Problem of Space Travel" by Herman Potocnik Noordung.
Among Vojo Šiljak's guests at the traditional and well-attended program "Breakfast with the author" will be Vlado Kreslin, Miljenko Jergović, Slobodan Šijan, and as part of the program "Twilight Reading" Mirko Kovač, Predrag Matvejević and Ante Tomić will present their new books. One of the guests who definitely stands out is Dragan Živadinov, Slovene artist, theater director and performer, co-founder of the Neue Slowenische Kunst movement.
