Collection of picture postcards - a glimpse of the past

The Historical Museum of Istria - Museo storico dell' Istria holds an extremely valuable collection of old picture postcards from entire Istria dating from the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. This impressive collection was founded in 1991 and comprises 6500 postcards that are specific documents of the past. About 60 % of the entire collection are postcards of Pula, whereas the others are postcards of nearly all Istrian towns. It is interesting to note that the postcards have been scanned and saved in digital form, which enables easy search by theme, location, motif or publisher.
