Exhibition dedicated to Darwin at the Aquarium

Pula's Aquarium at Verudela now boasts a new display dedicated to the great scientist Charles Darwin, author of the first modern scientific theory of evolution. The exhibition, which is displayed in the newly opened north-western wing of Fort Verudela, celebrates the 200th anniversary of Darwin's birth and 150th anniversary of the publication of his well known book "On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection".

Visitors can now learn more about the life of Charles Darwin, see the presentation of his voyage of the "Beagle", fossils and how they are formed, evolution of life on Earth by geological periods, evolution of whales and dolphins "Cetacea" and evolution of Man "Quo vadis homine'". A special part of the exhibition is the living fossil of the Atlantic horseshoe crab, as well as tropical reptiles and Darwin's finches.

In April and May the exhibition is open from 10 am - 6 pm, and in June and August from 10 am - 10 pm.
