Pula among the best city break destinations in Croatia

The best in the tourism business received annual awards at this year’s Days of Croatian Tourism. Pula was one of the three nominees in the Destination of the year category – the best city break destination.

Pula was one of the finalists, together with the City of Zagreb and Split, which was proclaimed the Best City Beak Destination.

“It is with great pleasure that I announce that Pula was nominated as one of the three finalists in the 2017 Best City Break Destination category. The fact that Pula is at the very top of the nominated cities is a great acknowledgement to everyone and proof that Pula has been recognized as an important destination on the tourist map of Europe. This would not have been possible without the work and synergy of all those living and working in our city, so thank you from the bottom of my heart.

For the first time in its modern history, Pula has recorded 2 million overnight stays this year, and in addition, Pula has been included among the 100 most sustainable cities in the world, a truly prestigious title. Numerous articles in the world’s leading magazines and newspapers testify to the beauties and attractions of our city. In addition to the rich history and preserved ancient monuments, which attract an ever-increasing number of visitors, Pula offers an ideal break from the daily routine and stress. Contribution to the great tourist results are the city’s numerous events, over a thousand every year, making Pula truly recognizable and the top destination on the Adriatic coast”, commented Boris Miletić, Mayor of the City of Pula on this prestigious award.
