Prijatelji mora – Friends of the Sea: Exhibition “As it Once was..” on Forum from 12-17. May 2018.

In its ninth consecutive years, the ‘Friends of the Sea’ exhibition will once again be touring the town squares and promenades of the Croatian Adriatic coast.  During the summer of 2018, in 13 Croatian destinations, the exhibition will be seen by more than a million visitors.

The 2018 edition of the “Friends of the Sea” exhibition presents a series of black and white records generated on the Adriatic coast in recent years; presented on 60 large-formats.

The particularity of exhibited work is that the authors used the aesthetics of the golden age of fine art photography in an effort to bring us back the emotional balance through the rhythm of a calm and gentle environment.

The geometric purity of the composition is often owed to the golden ratio or the classic way of photographing the object. The humanism of exhibited photographs is based on the nostalgia for times in which people depended on each other and were emotionally aligned and connected.

In the fast-paced digital age we live in, this visual walk is just another call to the viewer with a clear message: “Slow down.”

The works were selected by the Rovinj Photodays festival team and feature: Stanko Abadžić, Max Juhasz, duo Mario Romulić and Dražen Stojčić.
